THE COWS KNOW!

THE COWS KNOW!

During my walks in the countryside, I often go past the cows in their pasture fields.
Sometimes I stop and talk to them and there I receive important messages, believe
it or not. The cows in their green pastures leads a quiet cow-life and do what cows do
most, in all simplicity. That simplicity is the big message for me. You see, I see no
concern in those big black eyes, I see no stress and effort, I see no conflict with what
is going on right here and now. The cows rest when they are tired, eat when they are
hungry and turn their back to the rain when it rains. A responsiveness to the current
moment, an acceptance beyond thought – simply being. Naturally and easily. From
my visits to the fields, I take with me the inspiration to let life be simple, to trust that
I that it holds me and is generous, that I have the right to be who I am, completely
natural, without striving and effort. And how do I get there? Through relaxing one
moment at the time. As often as I remember I relax body and mind. Just briefly.
But that’s all it takes. The effect is simple and direct. I let myself be included in the
cow’s philosophy of life of simply being, and I open up the goodness of life.

The same relaxation is the basis of my paintings, a responsiveness to the colors and
water play, a co-creation, a dialogue with what is happening here and now. The more
I relax, the more I receive and give myself to the magic of the present moment. I cannot
explain it, but that’s the way it is. I am often asked ‘how have you done this? when people
see my work. Well, I dance with colors and water and live a cow-inspired life,
one moment at the time.
